Frequently Asked Questions

What is FSSAI Third Party Audit?
FSSAI Third Party Audit is a compliance assessment conducted by an FSSAI-recognized Audit Agency against Schedule 4 of the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations. It helps food businesses identify gaps in food safety practices, reduces regulatory inspection frequency, and improves overall hygiene standards.
Is FoSTaC certification mandatory?
Yes. FSSAI mandates that every food business operator (FBO) must have at least one trained and certified Food Safety Supervisor under FoSTaC for every 25 food handlers. The certification is required across all categories — catering, manufacturing, retail, and transport & distribution.
What is ISO 22000:2018 and who needs it?
ISO 22000:2018 is an international standard for Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS). It is applicable to any organisation in the food chain — farms, processors, manufacturers, packaging companies, distributors, retailers, and food service providers. Certification demonstrates commitment to food safety and is increasingly required by global buyers and retail chains.
How long does ISO 22000 certification take?
The typical timeline from engagement to certification is 3-6 months depending on the current state of your food safety management system. This includes gap analysis, documentation support, implementation period, and Stage 1 & Stage 2 audits. Our team works closely with your operations team to streamline the process.
Which industries does the Certification Division serve?
The Certification Division serves food manufacturers, catering and hospitality businesses, food retail chains, packaged food brands, ingredient suppliers, cold chain operators, and food exporters. We have experience across dairy, spices, beverages, bakery, seafood, poultry, and ready-to-eat categories.
