How to Send Samples to Auriga Research

Getting your samples to our laboratory should not slow down your testing timeline. This guide covers everything you need — packaging, labelling, courier options, and what happens when your sample arrives.

Sample Submission Process

1

Request a Quote and Confirm Testing

Before sending any samples, submit your requirements through our quote request form or call us at +91-7428116100. We confirm test feasibility, pricing, turnaround time, and the sample quantity required. This step prevents rejected samples and wasted courier costs.

Not sure what tests you need? Check our testing capabilities page or use the testing requirements finder.

2

Package Your Samples Correctly

Proper packaging prevents contamination and damage during transit. The type of packaging depends on your sample category.

Solid / Dry Samples

  • Clean, airtight ziplock bags or screw-cap containers
  • Minimum 100g per test parameter (unless specified otherwise)
  • Double-bagged to prevent cross-contamination
  • Cushioned with bubble wrap inside a rigid outer box

Liquid Samples

  • Leak-proof bottles with screw caps (HDPE or glass)
  • Minimum 250ml per test parameter (unless specified)
  • Sealed with parafilm tape around the cap
  • Placed upright in absorbent packing material

Perishable / Refrigerated

  • Insulated thermocol or styrofoam box
  • Gel ice packs (2-8°C) or dry ice (-20°C)
  • Temperature logger recommended for cold chain proof
  • Ship via overnight courier only

Hazardous / Chemical

  • UN-approved containers per IATA/ADR regulations
  • Safety Data Sheet (SDS) enclosed
  • Clearly marked with hazard symbols
  • Inform our team before shipping
3

Label Every Sample Container

Clear labelling is critical. Unlabelled or ambiguously labelled samples will be held until clarification — delaying your TAT. Every container must show:

  • Sample name / product name
  • Batch / lot number
  • Date of manufacture or collection
  • Storage conditions (ambient, 2-8°C, -20°C)
  • Your company name and contact person
  • Auriga Research quote reference number

Use waterproof labels or permanent markers. For multiple containers in one shipment, number them sequentially and match to your test request form.

Recommended Couriers

Bluedart (Preferred)

Surface Express for ambient samples. Dart Apex for time-sensitive and cold chain shipments. Available for pickup from all major cities.

DTDC

DTDC Premium Express for metro-to-metro shipments. Cost-effective for bulk sample shipments that are not temperature-sensitive.

India Post Speed Post and Delhivery are also acceptable for non-perishable samples. Avoid economy or surface shipping for any temperature-sensitive material.

Sample Acceptance and TAT Clock Start

When your sample arrives, our reception team inspects it against the test request form. We check packaging integrity, labelling accuracy, sample quantity, and storage conditions on arrival.

When Does TAT Begin?

The turnaround time clock starts when all three conditions are met: sample passes acceptance check, payment or purchase order is confirmed, and the test request form is complete. For samples received before 2:00 PM on a business day, the TAT typically starts the same day.

Sample Acceptance SLA

  • Acceptance/rejection notification within 4 business hours of receipt
  • Photographic evidence provided if sample is rejected
  • Rejected samples held for 7 days pending replacement
  • Sample retention: 60 days post-report (standard), extendable on request

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my sample arrives damaged?
If a sample arrives in compromised condition — leaking, broken cold chain, or incorrect packaging — our sample reception team will notify you within 4 business hours with photographs. You can choose to proceed with testing (with a disclaimer on the report) or send a replacement sample. We recommend using our packaging guidelines to avoid delays.
Can I drop off samples in person?
Yes. Walk-in sample submission is accepted at all five Auriga Research laboratory locations during business hours (Monday–Saturday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Our Gurugram headquarters, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad labs all have dedicated sample reception desks. No appointment is needed for drop-offs.
Do you arrange sample pickup?
We offer scheduled sample pickup for clients in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad metro areas. For clients in other locations, we recommend Bluedart or DTDC with our pre-addressed shipping labels. Contact our team to arrange pickup or get shipping labels.
How should I ship perishable or temperature-sensitive samples?
Perishable samples (food, biologicals, clinical specimens) must be shipped in insulated containers with gel ice packs or dry ice. Maintain the required temperature throughout transit — typically 2–8°C for refrigerated samples and -20°C for frozen samples. Ship via overnight courier (Bluedart Priority or DTDC Express) and notify our lab with the tracking number so we can prepare for immediate processing upon arrival.
When does the turnaround time clock start?
The TAT clock starts when all three conditions are met: (1) your sample passes our acceptance criteria check, (2) full payment or purchase order is confirmed, and (3) the test request form is complete with all required information. For most samples received before 2:00 PM, the TAT clock starts the same business day.
What if I am sending samples from outside India?
International samples require customs documentation. Visit our international testing services page for detailed guidance on customs declarations, import permits, and shipping requirements. We accept samples from over 30 countries and can provide import documentation support.
